Located on the banks of the Tigris River, Bagdad's “Green Zone” - known locally as the Bubble- was designed to provide a secure base for the international occupation force amidst the collapse of Iraqs political and civil infrastructure.

The “Great Park” for the Adelaide CBD, located on a bend of the Torrens River, is the Weatherill Government's economic version of the Bagdad Bubble, designed to provide an island of economic security for investment capital amidst the growing chaos of failed business and development opportunity across South Australia.

 Local inhabitants are offered a lottery of escape via the Green Zone Consultation Scheme:

A new 16 inch diameter PVC pipe will deliver River Torrens water to the existing stormwater drain under Wood Avenue from where it will be carried down to the Cheltenham Park wetlands off Torrens Road. A pumping station, owned and operated by the City of Charles Sturt Council, will be erected next to the weir in Bonython Park :
