Subject: Fwd: Mass Rally on the 31st

Hi everyone - please spread the word to your networks, facebook groups
etc; there will be a mass rally where east meets west at Victoria
Square on 31st October at 1pm to protest against the rampant
destruction of our farmlands and open space by this Labor government.

The western contingent will meet at the Governor Hindmarsh Hotel at
11.30am in preparation for the walk into town to meet the eastern
contingent, some of whom are walking all the way from Mt Barker! We
need to make this a really good one and add to the pressure on this
government to change its modus operandi and back down on the land
grabs happening all around Adelaide.

Please pass this onto all the community groups you know that are
concerned about the loss of open space and the influence of
development interests over the government.

Thanks and Regards Kirsten

HI Kirsten and Carol,
The main rally is to be held at Victoria Square at 1pm on Sunday the
31st October. We are walking from Mt Barker to Crafers on Sat 30th,
and then meeting again at Crafers at 8am on Sunday to walk down the
hill and into Vic Square. I don't know how long it would take you to
walk from the Gov to Vic Square - maybe an hour and half? two hours to
be safe?
Anyway, if we can meet at 1pm in Vic Square that would be excellent.
We need to show as much opposition to Holloway and Rann as possible,
strength in numbers! The latest comments by Holloway this week confirm
he is set on his particular agenda - so arrogant and so DETERMINED -
we need to not only continue but to increase our opposition just to
get heard.
We are just printing of a flyer (should be ready today) with all the
walk details on it - I don't have a electronic copy of it but will ask
for one and forward it to you. Would you (or whoever you might
delegate) be keen/interested in addressing the rally on behalf of St
Clair and Cheltenham? We have a meeting tonight and it would be good
to raise the idea of a speaker from each of your groups. What do you
think? I could confirm with you after tonight.
Carol, sorry I haven't replied to your email from a couple of days ago
- I was unable to check emails all of yesterday and have a huge
backlog now. Will work my way through them when I have a chance.
Cheers, SKye

Hi Skye and Carol - thanks very much to the Mt Barker contingent for
again coming to support us on the weekend; it was much appreciated and
we would like to return the favour.

Do you have some details can you send me details for the walk into
Adelaide and the rally on the 31st? I would like to get something out
to everyone asap so that we can get as many as possible walking from
the Gov or catching the tram in if they are not as mobile. Richard
Tonkin had some good ideas about getting everyone to bring something
green from their garden but it would be good to coordinate with
whatever theme you have for the rally, can you let us know what you
have planned?

Thanks and Regards Kirsten
